The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) are excited to announce the members of the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee! The Committee will review the current body of nutrition science and make recommendations to help guide HHS and USDA as they develop the 10th edition of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans.
The Committee consists of 20 nationally recognized scientists. Committee members will examine the relationship between diet and health across all life stages. They’ll apply a health equity lens throughout their evidence review to ensure their recommendations to HHS and USDA consider factors like socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, and culture to the greatest extent possible.
Starting today, a public comment period will open and remain open throughout the duration of the Committee’s work. HHS and USDA encourage the public to participate in the process by attending the Committee meetings and submitting public comments through the Federal Register. Also, anyone can sign up for email alerts to stay updated throughout the process.
The Committee will hold its first meeting on February 9-10, 2023. The meeting will be open to the public via live webcast. Get meeting details and learn more about the 2025 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee at DietaryGuidelines.gov.
