ODPHP Deputy Director Carter Blakey Named as One of the Most Influential Women Leaders in Health Promotion

The American Journal of Health Promotion has recognized Carter Blakey, ODPHP Deputy Director, as one of The Most Influential Women Leaders in Health Promotion. In their recently published editorial, Deputy Director Blakey features amongst “13 of the most accomplished female leaders working in health promotion based on their contributions to health science, their mentorship, and their executive leadership for organizations with far reaching health impact.”

For more than two decades, Deputy Director Blakey has led the Healthy People initiative, including overseeing the development and implementation of Healthy People 2010, Healthy People 2020, and Healthy People 2030. She was also instrumental in developing frameworks, objectives, the establishment of Leading Health Indicators for Healthy People 2020 and Healthy People 2030, as well as numerous user-centered tools, a series of educational opportunities and webinars, and the new Healthy People 2030 Champions program.
