The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) recommends offering behavioral counseling to adults with cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk factors — or referring them to counseling. These interventions include multiple sessions of behavioral counseling to promote eating healthy and getting physical activity. USPSTF found that people at high risk for CVD who get behavioral counseling have fewer cardiovascular and obesity-related problems.
