The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) found that there is insufficient evidence to recommend for or against screening all children and adolescents for lipid disorders (high cholesterol). This recommendation applies to children and adolescents age 20 years or younger that don’t have signs, symptoms, or a known diagnosis of a lipid disorder.
