The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommends person-to-person interventions intended to change adolescents’ risk and protective behaviors by improving their caregivers’ parenting skills. These interventions can be face-to-face or over the phone, and they take place outside clinical settings. Studies included in CPSTF’s review involved interventions that used information or behavioral strategies to improve parenting skills.
