In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that the benefits of post-birth parental education for infants’ care or infant-parent relationships are unclear. The review included studies in which new parents took part in education programs individually or in groups in the 2 months after their infants were born. The interventions seem to improve infants’ sleep but appear to have no effect on how much time infants spend crying. The interventions may also increase mothers’ knowledge of infants’ behavior.
