This Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) toolkit can help hospital infection prevention programs implement a decolonization protocol to reduce bloodstream infections. Researchers found that implementing a decolonization protocol reduced bloodstream infections in adult inpatients who were not in intensive care units and who had specific medical devices by more than 30 percent. 

The toolkit includes implementation instructions, demonstration videos, and customizable tools.
