In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that the evidence suggests that some psychosocial and developmental prevention programs can be effective in preventing alcohol misuse in adolescents. Some studies showed statistically significant effects, and others showed no effects. Researchers noted that the most common positive effects across studies were reduced drunkenness and binge drinking.
