Summary
Adolescents need at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day, including muscle-strengthening activities at least 3 days a week. Physical activity improves heart, muscle, bone, and mental health in adolescents. Strategies at the community and family level — and in schools and child care centers — can promote physical activity in adolescents.
