Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a health condition that causes people to repeatedly stop and start breathing while asleep. It can lead to poor sleep, tiredness, and increase people’s risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) found that the evidence is insufficient to make a recommendation about screening for OSA in adults. Health care providers should use their judgment to decide whether and how to screen a patient for OSA.
