Summary
The School Breakfast Program lowers the risk of food insecurity and helps children eat healthier. Increasing participation in the program can help students do better in school and address behavior and mental health concerns related to food insecurity. Strategies to provide breakfast after the school day starts and to offer free breakfast to all students can increase participation in the program.
