Summary

Many adults who have disabilities put off preventive health care services, like vaccinations and cancer screenings, because of cost. These delays can lead to many health problems, including preventable diseases. Strategies to make preventive care more affordable for people with disabilities include telemedicine, coordinated care, and shared decision-making.
